Why does the hip stay sore? The sore spot and the movements that stir it can point to the cause.
Groin pain that feels deep often begins inside the ball-and-socket joint. The strong cord joining muscle to bone is a tendon, and it may hurt along the outer hip.
Burning or tingling down the leg can begin in the lower back. Tell the doctor where it starts and how far it travels.
Where does the soreness come from?
Pain felt well inside the groin often grows worse when you turn or rise from a low chair. Stiffness after sitting can also come from arthritis inside the joint.
With arthritis, the smooth cartilage over the bones can grow thinner. That change may make the hip stiff after rest or sore during deep bends.
Outer-hip soreness often hurts most while sleeping on the sore side. An exam can sort trouble in the joint from the tendon or lower back.
What makes a sore hip feel better?
Shorter walks and fewer deep bends can calm a flare without complete rest. A cane held on the other side can take some weight off the sore hip.
Gentle strength work may help, but stop when a movement brings sharp pain. Store-bought pain medicine isn't safe for everyone, so ask about your heart, kidneys and stomach.
Note which walks, chairs and sleeping positions bring on the ache. That list helps show whether small daily changes are easing the soreness.
When is the hip worth an exam?
Book an exam if the ache continues to limit sleep, stairs, walking or getting into the car. Bring notes on its location, start and worst movements.
The visit usually starts with questions, a hands-on exam and a look at earlier X-rays. Fever, marked swelling or being unable to stand after a fall needs prompt medical care.

FDA states verbatim that regenerative medicine products including stem cells, stromal vascular fraction, umbilical cord blood, Wharton's jelly, amniotic fluid and exosomes have NOT been approved 'for the treatment of any orthopedic condition, such as osteoarthritis, tendonitis, disc disease, tennis elbow, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, neck pain, or shoulder pain.' The only FDA-approved stem cell products in the United States are blood-forming (hematopoietic progenitor) cells derived from umbilical cord blood, approved only for disorders affecting blood production.

A Bayesian network meta-analysis of 11 randomized trials (1353 patients) in hip osteoarthritis found that at 2-4 months and 6 months NO injectable - corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma - significantly outperformed a saline placebo injection for pain or function. Pooled change from baseline exceeded the minimal clinically important difference in every arm including placebo.

The 2019 ACR/Arthritis Foundation guideline makes STRONG recommendations for exercise, weight loss in people with overweight or obesity, self-efficacy and self-management programmes, tai chi, cane use and oral NSAIDs across hand, hip and knee OA - but its strong recommendations for topical NSAIDs and for intra-articular glucocorticoid injection are specific to the KNEE, not the hip.

In 45 volunteers with no history of hip pain, symptoms, injury or surgery, blinded 3.0-T MRI found abnormalities in 73% of hips - labral tears in 69%, chondral defects in 24%, subchondral cysts in 16% and osseous bumps in 20%. A labral tear on MRI is therefore not by itself an explanation for hip pain.

What if the soreness doesn't settle?
QC Kinetix offers a visit with medical providers, the clinic team that asks about your health and checks how the hip moves. They explain which sore area each choice is meant for and who would give the care.
Regenerative treatment includes PRP, care that uses a spun portion of your own blood in the sore area. PRP means platelet-rich plasma; spinning the blood gathers its small clot-forming pieces.
